Bunty Goes To The Luna Festival

DSC01064 Hello, I have been on another adventure, this time to a music festival called The Luna Festival. I was so excited, my people daddy said it was a hippy-dippy festival, my people brother told me it was a folk festival  and my people mommy said I should wear flowers around my head and she made me a new dress and a band with a flower for my head.

The festival was in a place called  Tanworth in Arden and was held in a big field. There were lots of stalls selling food, drink, clothes and lots of other pretty things, I had a quick hop around to have a look. Some of the people there had very pretty clothes and lots of flowers in their hair and glitter on their faces. I thought they looked beautiful.

It was nearly time for the first band so I hopped down to by the stage and found a place to sit. The first band was called The Mothers Earth Experiment, I liked them, then it was Flamingods they were good too, then Khruangbin I didn’t like them much. Next were  Morris dancers with black faces, the leader said it was so their families wouldn’t get embarrassed about them and everybody laughed. They were very good and the leader was very funny. The next band were called The Mariachis, I really liked them, they are a mexican band and they made everyone laugh and get up and dance and sing, everyone was smiling and clapping.  The next group was called Paradise Bangkok molam International, but I didn’t stay to watch them I was very hot and needed to have a little hop, so I went for a hop around the stalls and get a drink with fruit in it, it tasted very nice but it made my head feel funny. I didn’t know it had alcohol in it, alcohol is not for little bunnies.

I hopped back to the stage in time to see Matt Berry and the Maypoles, I thought they were going to dance because people dance around a Maypole, but they didn’t. They sang, I liked them too.

I was very very hot by this time so I hop to the back of the crowd and sat at the back of the field, I could still see the stage and hear the music, and it was fun because there was a big machine blowing bubbles and they were flying all over the people. The next band were called The Zombies, I got a bit scared because I thought Zombies were nasty monsters and I couldn’t workout why they would be at this nice happy festival. I was quite relived to see they were very nice people who just sang, not monsters at all.

Then it was time for The Procession, I got very excited about this, I had already looked at the bonfire in the shape of a big bird. First the Crowman, along with a very pretty lady led the way to the bonfire. There were a lot of dancing animals and a very tall lady and a band following him. He then said something I couldn’t hear because I was around the wrong side of the bonfire,  then the bonfire was lit by a man who could breath fire, I hope his month was OK, because I wouldn’t have wanted him to be hurt when he was being so helpful. The bonfire and all the dancing animals were to welcome the new Rose Moon, I liked that I had welcomed the new moon too.

I watched the bonfire for a while, the grass by the stage had started to fill up with lots and lots of people so I went back to where I had been before and I could see. I sat on a bench and watched a group call Super Furry Animals, but they weren’t animals at all, I think that would have been funny.  I turn around to watch some pretty lights on the wall and a very clever lady dancing with some hoops that lit up, it looked like magic.

I was a very tired bunny by the time everything had finished, I had been there 12 hours. That’s a long time for a little bunny but I was a very happy bunny, I have seen lot’s of nice things and lots of happy people, I can’t wait until next year.

Keep Hopping Love

Bunty goes to the Breacon beacons

Brecon Beacons 019 Hello, I have been on another adventure. I have been back to the Breacon Beacons to do some more waterfall hops.
Just outside where  the caravan was parked was  a little river so after I had unpacked my carrots I went for a hop across the stones. There an’t any fish in this river because its not really deep enough but some of the stones were very slippy but I didn’t fall in. I found some blackberries along the bank to have for my supper they were very nice.

On my first full day I thought it would be nice to hop along to see Neath Abbey, it is very old and all fallen down now, some of it had fences around it because the rain had made it unsafe, but that didn’t matter it was still very pretty. People called monks used to live in it a very very long time a ago and then it was sold to very rich people who turned it into their home. Then it was used as a place to smelt copper,  it has been a lot of things.  I learnt that smelt means to melt it,  I like to learn new things.
I then hopped to Port Talbot where I saw a big whale! He wasn’t real, he was made from concrete, and all the people children can play on him. Then it was time to see a waterfall, but this was an easy one to see. It was in a National trust museum called Aberdulais Falls Trail. The falls used to run a big waterwheel which helped to run the tin mine that used to be here, lots of people worked here. Some of them were only little children, I don’t think it would have been very nice. There are still bits of the old buildings and lots of things to read and look at, there’s even a little film to watch. I was a bit disappointed that I couldn’t hop right up to the waterfall like I have all the others.

My little paws hurt, so I went home for carrots and a nap.

The next day I hopped to do the Dinas Rock and Sgydau Sychrdy Falls and then the Powder Trail, all these are very close together. So I didn’t have to hop far to do them all, although it did take me a long time to find the start of the Sgydau Sychrdy trail because it wasn’t sign posted and the map wasn’t very good. When I had finished my hop I saw two other people looking at the map and looking very confused, so I went and asked them if they were looking for the trail to Sgydau Sychrdy and when they said yes I showed them where the trail started. They told me I was very kind. Dinas Rock is very big I could only just see the top, people climb up and down it, I think they must be very brave. The hop to Sgydau Sychrdy was easy and the falls were tucked away at the side of the rocks, but they were still very loud. The powder trail can be hopped two ways, the easy way is straight up the river and back again and the hard way is to go over the top of the big rock and down the steep steep other side. It was very steep. I was very tired so I went for a nap after I had looked at the full moon, my people mommy told me to lookout for the moon because it was called the harvest moon and not only was it a full moon but it was a supermoon too.

The next day I hopped to Melincourt falls, this fall is 80 foot tall and it is very very pretty, I stayed there for quite a long time because it was so pretty. Then for my last hop I hopped the Henrhyd falls and Nant Llech trail, this was a hard hop for my little legs, lots of hills and slippy paths. I hopped and hopped through the pretty trees until I came to the water falls, they are all very pretty, I only saw the last one from the bridge because when I was going to go down the slop Banjo the dogs came running up the path, saying ‘it wasn’t right he always had a little play in this part of the river everyday, it was his part of the river’. When I asked him why his people daddy wouldn’t let him play he said it was because his people daddy had told him there were people ‘skinny dipping’ in there. I didn’t understand what he meant and when he told me I thought they must be very brave people to want to swim in the very cold water with no clothes on.

Then it was time to come home and tell everyone about my adventure

Bunty looks for the Supermoon

supermoon 015 Hello,
My people mommy has been telling me all about the moon and the name’s that some people call  them. Yesterdays moon was called the Strawberry moon because June is when we harvest strawberries, (our strawberries are still green so I don’t think it’s always right),  it is also called the Honeymoon by Pagan people after the special beer they make called Honey Mead, and that it was also going to be a Supermoon, that means it gets close to the earth.  At first I was a little scared, I thought it might get too close and hit us, but my people mommy told me it wasn’t going to hit us, then I thought it would be fun to climb up the ladder and have a walk on the moon, but my people mommy told me it wasn’t going to get that near either. My people daddy said we could go and take some photos of it if I liked and my people mommy told me not to get upset if we didn’t get any, as Mother Nature doesn’t always want to play. I didn’t understand what she meant, but I was too excited to ask her and ran to get my hat. We got in the car and my people daddy drove us to the top of a big hill at a place called Clee Hills. I waited and waited but all I could see were clouds. Two sheep came over and told me their names were Sheila and Sally. They asked if I wanted to join them for tea, they were enjoying the grass, I said thank you but I have already had my tea, they munched on a little more than asked what I was doing. I told them all about the moon and they told me they had seen lot’s of them. Sally looked up and said she didn’t think I would see the moon because the clouds were getting thicker, and she was right. So we headed off home. My people mommy told me to go into the garden and look at the sky and there was the moon hiding behind some cloud. Now I understand what my people mommy meant about Mother Nature not wanting to play, our strawberries are not ripe and the clouds were too thick to see the moon and it’s all down to nature!

You can look at my Photos here.

If you like you can leave me your words, I like to read them.
